Larry’s recent ‘Relic Traveller’ project is a multi-disciplinary multi-site work that builds on themes of lost testimony, fallen empire and displacement by deconstructing the architectures of colonialism.

Bio

Larry Achiampong’s solo and collaborative projects employ imagery, aural and visual archives, live performance and sound to explore ideas surrounding class, cross-cultural and post-digital identity.

Achiampong is currently artist in residence at Somerset House Studios (London) and has exhibited, performed and presented projects internationally with Tate Britain/Modern, London; The Institute For Creative Arts, Cape Town; The British Film Institute, London; David Roberts Art Foundation, London; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; Bokoor African Popular Music Archives Foundation, Accra; Logan Center Exhibitions, Chicago; Prospect New Orleans, New Orleans; Diaspora Pavilion – 57th Venice Biennale, Venice; and Somerset House, London.

Achiampong (b. 1984, UK) is a Jarman Award 2018 nominated artist. He has an MA in Sculpture from the Slade School of Fine Art (2008) and lives and works in London. Since 2016 he has tutored on the Photography MA programme at Royal College of Art and Achiampong currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Iniva (Institute of International Visual Arts). Achiampong is represented by C Ø P P E R F I E L D.
